Sarah Boone
is the West Region Director for Historic Accommodations of Texas
Del Rio Tourism
and Conventions Hospitality Employee winner.
Sarah
Boone's nomination reads as follows: "Sarah is all about
hospitality, whether on the phone, greeting guests at the door,
directing them to interesting tourist sites in the area or
serving them a great breakfast. She is also on a program of
showing hospitality to local residents by inviting them to join
out-of-town guests for an interactive breakfast with the local
Del Rioans. (Del Rio Business Journal, July 2004.)
Sarah Boone is Villa Del Rio's official
Inn-Keeper. Sarah was born and raised in Little Rock, AR.
She graduated from Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX . She
married an Aggie, Class of '61. They lived in Carrollton, TX
while their two children were growing up.
Sarah became a banker in 1978 and spent 25 years
in bank marketing with several Texas financial institutions.
Before arriving in Del Rio in August of 2003,
Sarah lived in Granbury, where she was in banking, then
"retired" to open a B&B on Lake Granbury.
Here's what Sarah has to say. "I've always
wanted to live in a ' foreign country '. Villa Del Rio and the
charm of the two cities, Del Rio and Ciudad Acuña, give me that
experience. "Tejas" is home to me now.....and being able to
share its culture with visitors from all over the world is
exciting! I particularly enjoy seeing guests leave the Villa
with a totally different perspective of Mexico and its people.
Y'all come! "
